Angel Reese Leads No. 13 LSU Past Alabama 85-66

No. 13 LSU trailed Alabama by ten points at halftime on Sunday in the PMAC, but the Tigers increased their defensive pressure in the second half and won 85-66.

Alabama, which had won four straight, extended its lead with an 8-19 three-point shooting effort in the second half.

With a 10-point hole, LSU started the second half with a full-court press and soon climbed back into the game. The Tigers took the lead less than four minutes into the third quarter,

and although Alabama momentarily regained the lead, LSU reclaimed the lead for good at 4:13 in the third and cruised to victory.

"You want to peak at the right time of the year," Coach Kim Mulkey explained. "I felt it was gut check time for us in the second half.

I thought it required leadership. I assumed it required expertise. But it needed a lot of effort to get back into the game and do so quickly enough to expand your lead."

Angel Reese delivered one of her most overpowering performances of the season. She finished with 27 points, 19 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block. Aneesah Morrow,

who finished the game with nine points, has scored over 2,000 points in her college career. Morrow also tallied eight rebounds. They helped LSU win the battle for points in the paint, 50-8.
