Parton asks fans to ‘forgive and forget’ Elle King’s Grand Ole Opry tribute.

Of course, Dolly Parton doesn't hold grudges.

The iconic singer is speaking out following Elle King's recent intoxicated performance at The Grand Ole Opry, which was intended to commemorate Parton.

During a tribute to Dolly Parton's 78th birthday in Nashville last month, King informed the audience she was "hammered" and forgot the lyrics to Parton's "Marry Me".

"Elle is really a great artist," Parton said on "Extra." "She's a great girl, and she's been going through hard things lately."

"She just had a little too much to drink, so let's just forgive that and forget it and move on, 'cause she felt worse than anyone ever could," she said.

At his Jan. 19 gig, King addressed the audience, "I don't know the lyrics to these stuff in this f—ing place. "Don't tell Dolly; it's her birthday."

As a means of addressing the concerns raised by the audience, the Grand Ole Opry issued a message on X in which they expressed their regret
