Toby Keith's Family Reveals Details of Country Star's Private Funeral and Memorial Service
Toby Keith has spent over 30 years touring the world, sharing his music with fans. During that period, he charted 61 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.
The country musician has garnered various honors over his career, including the National Medal of Arts in 2021. Sadly, after suffering stomach cancer for several years, the legend died on February 5, 2024.
Keith's family revealed information about his memorial service, as performers from many genres paid tribute to the late star. Given his immense success in country music,
fans have been wondering how the singer's family will remember him. On Saturday, the family posted a photo of Keith and information about his funeral.
They captioned the image with, "The Covel Family is hosting a private funeral service for family, band, and crew only in mid-February."
They went on to say, "A memorial service to honor Toby will be announced only on Toby's socials shortly."
While allowing friends, family, and admirers to pay their respects to Keith, the family requested not to receive flowers.
Instead, they encouraged people to donate to the Toby Keith Foundation, which helps fund the OK Kids Korral. The nonprofit focuses on helping pediatric cancer patients.
