For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk

For the Chantilly Cream:

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Make the Cake:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Chantilly Cream:

In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.

Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

Assemble the Cake:

Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving platter.

Spread a layer of Chantilly cream over the first cake layer and top with fresh berries.

Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining Chantilly cream.

Garnish with additional berries on top for a decorative touch.

Serve and Enjoy:

Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving to allow the Chantilly cream to set.

Slice and serve this delicious Chantilly Cake, and enjoy the heavenly combination of light, moist cake, creamy Chantilly filling, and fresh berries!

This Chantilly Cake is perfect for celebrations or any special occasion. Enjoy!
